Kristian is a British-Finnish choreographer, creative director, and filmmaker known for his cinematic approach to storytelling, seamlessly blending classical technique, contemporary movement, and theatrical narrative. Trained at the prestigious Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow and a former member of Hamburg Ballet, Lever draws upon a rigorous classical foundation while continually pushing the boundaries of contemporary performance. Lever began choreographing at the age of 22, receiving his first commission from the National Youth Ballet of Germany. Since then, he has created more than 40 original works for leading dance companies and opera houses across Europe and North America, including the Royal Danish Ballet, Hamburg Ballet, and Finnish National Ballet, whose work was presented in collaboration with The Royal Ballet at Covent Garden. His achievements have been recognized with major industry honours, including the Erik Bruhn Prize for Best Choreography, awarded by the National Ballet of Canada, and Germany’s TANZ Promising Young Talent Award.
